We have started a new project, where we have to copy a garment or outfit by a designer. We have to perfect all the details and finishes to make it as true to the catwalk version. So picked out this design by Haider Ackermann AW 12, they had a range of images and I wanted to pick something I would not really focus on. I love pieces in the collection where it all very sleek and structured but then they throw in some metallic shiny and draped fabrics and i really don’t love it, but this is different to what I might obviously pick. I wanted to challenge myself with this shape of this one, instead of sticking to lots of panels or detailed techniques. Also this is not a print project though i might try and use print within the part of the project where we are creating a couture collection. Well from looking at it all today, I feel like I can do it but the challenge shall be the silhouette in this design which is something I do not normally focus on so hopefully I shall be more aware when designing my own work.
